The cup
A specialty coffee roastery in the residential Ajuda parish run by Anthony Watson and Sofia Gonçalves; Watson, who cycled from the United Kingdom to Ethiopia to spend time with coffee farmers before founding the roastery, applies a direct-trade philosophy to single-origin lots from Tanzania, Colombia, Peru and beyond. The roastery at Rua do Cruzeiro 84 is open to the public primarily at weekends for guided tastings and bean sales. Roasts its own coffee.
